MEMENTO MORI is a current and ongoing body of work that speaks to finding the light in times of darkness. By seeing a difficult period as an invitation to use her artistic process to explore and integrate it became an opening for McNab to unlock deeper parts of herself. Synonymous with her wider practice these paintings lift the veil on perceived realities and explore the power of art in addressing mental health and wellbeing.

Experiencing the decline of her parents' physical and mental health, McNab was confronted with thoughts of mortality and began analysing the cylindrical nature of existence and relationships. Recognising the deeper lessons behind repetitive cycles and patterns, Bridgette began exploring alternative healing practices with a focus on energy therapies such as Kinesiology and Reiki. Fascinated by this new mystic perspective on life and death, she began to unpack these concepts visually using symbolism and spiritualist colour theory.

Through her evolution of spiritual intelligence, McNab claims her personal experience of the physical world evolved into a finer receptivity. The search for truth and wisdom achieved through comprehending and seeing both the tangible and sensory world. McNab’s practice continues to champion the positive effects that art has on reducing social isolation, anxiety and promote positive emotions such as hope, enjoyment, and optimism to create new inspirational and meaningful experiences.
